The Katharine Gebbie Young Scientist Award recognizes Exceptional Science in Support of the NIST Mission by a NIST staff member or associate with no more than 10 years of professional experience (excluding career interruption) following receipt of their highest degree. The Lecture gives the Awardee the opportunity to share their research with the broader NIST audience. The Outstanding Service in Support of NIST Scientists Award recognizes Exceptional Technical and Administrative Support of NIST Scientists for invaluable support of NIST’s scientific excellence.
This year's lectures will be given by the 2025 Katharine B. Gebbie Young Investigator Awardees Hayden Evans of NCNR, whose talk is entitled "How Structural Dynamics in Porous Materials can Drive Next-Generation Industrial Gas Separations" and Ran Tao of MML, whose talk is entitled "Quantifying Flow and Cure for Mission-Driven Research: From Body Armor to Microchips". In addition, Sharon Rinehart of EL will be honored as the 2025 Outstanding Service in Support of NIST Scientists Awardee. A celebratory reception in honor of all awardees will be held immediately following the lectures.
